The Sgt. Michael T. Washington Memorial Golf Tournament was created to remember and respect one of Tacoma, Washington's fallen heroes.
It's main purpose is for the participants to take a day away from work and spend it on the golf course with other friends of Michael's to reflect on the times shared. It is
also to show our support for Michael and his family, to let them know that we too are there for them, and that we will in no way ever forget the man Michael was or the beliefs he held so strongly:
the belief that every country had the right to share the same freedoms enjoyed by the American people and his will to put his own life in the line-of-fire in order to make strides
to make that a reality for the people who were not strong enough to fight for it themselves. Michael was a true hero, a man that should, and will, never be forgotten. Those are the
reasons as to why it is important to take a day out of our busy lives to come out and spend time together, remembering Michael and the legacy he created.
This tournament is open to all players, of all skill ranges. The main purpose is to go out and spend a day on the golf course, have fun, and reflect on memories. And don't shy away if you didn't know Michael.
You are still more than welcome to come out, enjoy the afternoon with us, and listen to the stories that others shared with Michael.
If you are one of those types of people who would rather not pick up a golf club, still feel free to join us after the tournament for food or to join in on our silent auction.
All proceeds generated by this charity go directly to the Seattle's Bravest Charity of the Seattle Fire Department. We are proud to present these proceeds to a cause that stands up
for the community, a cause that provides for those in need when it is needed most. For more information on the Seattle's Bravest Charity, go to

On August 1, 2008, the first Annual Sgt. Michael T. Washington Memorial Golf Tournament was held at North Shore Golf Course. The event was a great success, everyone enjoyed themselves
and the event generated a fair profit to support the Seattle's Bravest Charity. In 2009, personal matters got in the way of us holding the tournament, but the tournament returns for 2010! Registration is being held now, so reserve your spot while you still can.
